After a nap and an apalling lack of service by the Moat House staff (with great assistance from Simon and Swarajit!! Thanks again guys!!) we were in the fancy dress competition. Didn't expect to win, but we did get told by Ian "Ganymede & Titan" Symes that we had his vote. That may have helped slightly more if Ian was actually a judge, though. Still there were some excellent costumes. The Bazookoid was smegging amazing, 12 foot high with lights that flashed and party poppers for firing action. The girl who was Caroline Carmen was very well done as well. Paul "Total Red Dwarf" Gannon wore slightly more clothing this year, in a very good Legion costume.
After the winners were announced, we went upstairs to get ready for John Lenahan's set and the disco. A lot of John's material seemed familiar from last year (I do *not* want to see that picture Charles!). Later on, John was sitting with us and at one point ate chips that were meant to be shared by all of us (oh well). Alex was a good sport and was willing to get up and dance with me a bit. This made me very happy, (as I hadn't danced since 1997 and that was one lousy song because my ex-husband was an ass). I had a fantastic time, and drank three Smirnoffs (plus one earlier with dinner).
After hanging out in the bar with Monika, Simon, Swarajit, Nicky, Mick, Ian (well he was passed out but he was still there), and assorted other people at various times, we finally dragged ourselves upstairs at something like 4 am, when Alex insisted I have some tea.
Sunday Morning:
Miraculously, no hangover. But after breakfast we had to get going to catch the coach to Coventry. You see, we had to visit Alex's family because
